These Alabama Fire Crackers are a delightful Southern tradition. Seriously addicting, you might want to throw in a big batch!
Crispy and savory, Alabama Fire Crackers are prepared with saltine crackers, spices, and red pepper flakes. Easy to make and ridiculously tasty!
One of the simplest snack recipes is Alabama Fire Crackers. They’re tantalizingly delicious—almost to the brink of addiction. Get a batch going and see how fast they disappear!
There’s nothing better than a batch of Alabama Fire Crackers, and the best part is that you probably already have everything you need to make them.
My advice: go easy on the red pepper flakes if you’re a spice wimp like me. There must be a good reason why these are called firecrackers. Even though they were a hit with my family, the heat level is through the roof! But if you can tolerate the heat, you are one of few!
INGREDIENTS
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
2 c. olive oil
2 (1 ounce) packages of ranch dressing mix
1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1 (16-ounce) package of saltine crackers
3 tbsp crushed red pepper
How to make Alabama Fire Crackers
Step 1: Place the olive oil in a gallon zip-top bag. Add the onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, ranch dressing mix, and red pepper flake. Close and seal the bag, then shake or knead to mix all the ingredients.
Step 2: In the bag, add the saltine crackers. Seal the bag and gently turn the bag over until the crackers are completely coated.
Step 3: Allow the crackers to sit in the bag overnight.
Step 4: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 250 degrees F.
Step 5: On a baking sheet, spread out the cracker. Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 15 minutes or until golden brown and the oil has been absorbed.
