Best BBQ Chicken in Oven

Stick to your bone, mouth-watering BBQ chicken. These oven-baked BBQ chicken always comes out perfectly juicy. This recipe is an excellent alternative to grilled chicken.

Ingredients

1 tsp Garlic Powder

1 kg Chicken thighs and legs With skin and bone-in

½ tsp Onion Powder

¾ c. BBQ Sauce

1 tsp Paprika

½ tsp Salt

¼ tsp Pepper

How to make the Best BBQ Chicken in Oven

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 400 degrees F. Using a foil, line a baking tray and set aside.

Step 2: In the meantime, pat dry the chicken using a kitchen towel.

Step 3: Place all the dry ingredients in a bowl. Mix well.

Step 4: On the prepared tray, arrange the chicken pieces, evenly spacing them out a little. Then, generously season with the seasoning mix on all sides. Make sure to keep the skin side up.

Step 5: Place in the middle rack of the preheated oven and bake for about 20 minutes. Take the dish out of the oven and adjust the oven temperature to 425 degrees F.

Step 6: Generously brush the chicken with the BBQ sauce. Return the tray to the oven and resume baking for additional 10 minutes.

Step 7: Give the chicken another coat of BBQ sauce and bake it for another 10 minutes. Once the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees F, the chicken is cooked.

Step 8: Broil the chicken in the upper rack of the oven for about 2 to 3 minutes for that extra charred effect on the skin.

Notes:

The sauce will be contaminated if you dip the brush again in the sauce. Make sure to use any leftover sauce right away. Or you can store half of the sauce in a different bowl and use it for later.

To dilute the sweetness of the bottled BBQ sauce, simply add 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar.
