Throw this zesty one-pan meal in under twenty minutes using just a couple of simple ingredients. This amazing dish is packed and bursting with Cajun flavor, sausage, shrimp, and bell peppers. This Cajun Shrimp and Sausage Skillet is an excellent keto-friendly and low-carb meal that brings the flavors of meat and veggies perfectly in a single meal!

This dish is also excellent if you are into meal prepping as this stores well for a couple of days. Toss in other veggies if desired, such as zucchini and yellow squash, along with the bell peppers. Broccoli and asparagus are also an amazing addition. As for the sausage, you are welcome to use chicken, turkey, pork, or beef. I also like a little kick to my skillet meal, so I sprinkle some pepper flakes or drizzle over some sriracha.

Ingredients

½ pound Shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 tablespoon Olive Oil

½ c. Sliced Red Onion

1 c. Sliced Yellow Bell Pepper

1 c. Sliced Red Bell Pepper

1 teaspoon Minced Garlic

2 teaspoons Lemon Juice

1 pound Smoked Cooked Chicken Sausage such as andouille

¼ c. Chicken Broth

1 tablespoon Chopped Parsley

2 teaspoons Cajun Seasoning or more to taste

Salt and pepper to taste

How to make Cajun Shrimp Sausage Skillet

Step 1: In a large pan, heat the olive oil on medium-high heat.

Step 2: To the hot oil, add the onion and bell peppers. Saute for about 4 to 5 minutes or until tender. Next, add the garlic and saute for another 30 seconds.

Step 3: To taste, season the veggies. Set the veggies aside and keep them warm.

Step 4: To the now-empty pan, add the shrimp and sausage. Sprinkle them with Cajun seasoning and salt and pepper. Cook for about 3 to 4 minutes or until the shrimps are pink and opaque and the sausage is completely heated.

Step 5: Return the veggies to the pan. Whisk in the chicken broth and lemon juice. Let everything simmer for about 2 to 3 minutes.

Step 6: Before serving, top with parsley. Enjoy!
