I love these Chicken Wontons! They are the easiest and the best-fried chicken wontons I’ve made! This recipe takes only twenty minutes to make from start to finish. These Fried Chicken Wontons are seriously crispy and tasty!
These chicken wontons are perfect to pair with plum sauce, duck sauce, or a sweet and sour sauce for dipping. Although, I prefer the Thai sweet chili sauce, which compliments these wontons very well. One bite into these yummy and crispy wontons, and you’ll never stop eating them!
Ingredients
1/4 pound shrimp, chopped into small pieces
1/2 pound ground chicken
1 stalk scallion, cut into rings
1/4 tsp salt
3 dashes of ground white pepper
1/2 tsp cornstarch
12 pieces wonton wrappers
1 dash of fish sauce optional
1/2 tsp sesame oil
oil for deep frying
water for sealing
Dipping Sauce:
1 pinch of white sesame seeds
2 tsp lime juice
1 tbsp chopped cilantro leaves
3 tbsp Thai sweet chili sauce
How to make Chicken Wontons
Step 1: Place the ground chicken, shrimp, scallion, and cornstarch in a bowl. Mix well. Then, add the salt along with the fish sauce, sesame oil, and white pepper. Mix again until the ingredients are well combined and set aside.
Step 2: On your palm, place a piece of the wonton wrapper. In the center of the wrapper, add half a tbsp of the filling. Into some water, dip your index finger, and trace it on the other edges of the wonton wrapper.
Step 3: Then, fold the edges of the wonton wrapper, pinching as you go. Tightly seal the wonton to make sure there is no opening at the top.
Step 4: In a wok or frying pan, heat the cooking oil. Once hot, add the wontons and deep-fry until golden brown.
Step 5: Serve the chicken wontons right away by themselves or with sweet chili sauce. Enjoy!
