This easy ground beef, pasta recipe is an amazing dinner that you can make in a snap! Cheesy, creamy, and delicious. INGREDIENTS
1 tbsp olive oil
1 ½ lbs fresh extra lean ground beef
½ c. yellow or white onion, chopped
2 tbsp garlic, chopped
2 c. marinara sauce, pasta sauce, tomato sauce, or crushed tomatoes
2 c. water
2 c medium shells uncooked (about ½ of a 1 lb. box)
½ c. shredded Parmesan cheese optional
2 tbsp Italian seasoning mix
1 c. heavy cream or half and half
1 tsp sea salt
½ tsp ground black pepper
How to make Creamy Shells and Beef
Step 1: Heat the olive oil in a large pot or skillet. Then, add the onions and saute until tender.
Step 2: Next, add the ground beef and continue to cook until no longer pink.
Step 3: Add the garlic and season with salt & pepper. Then, whisk in the tomato sauce, followed by the pasta and water.
Step 4: Put the lid on and bring everything to a boil. Once boiling, remove the lid and continue to cook for another 10 minutes or until the pasta begins to soften.
Step 5: Stir in the Italian seasoning.
Step 6: Adjust the heat to medium-low and mix in the cream.
Step 7: Continue to cook on low heat until the sauce starts to thicken.
Step 8: Finally, add the Parmesan cheese and serve the creamy shells and beef immediately. Enjoy!
NOTE:
If cooking 1 lb of pasta, use 3 c water and a large jar (32 ounces jar) of marinara sauce or pasta sauce. If desired, add a 15-ounce can of diced tomatoes for more tomato flavor.
