¼ c. vegetable oil
2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts – cut in half lengthwise and pounded to an even thickness to make four cutlets
1 c. flour
1 tsp smoked paprika – regular is okay if you don’t have smoked
1 tsp cayenne pepper
½ tsp garlic powder
2 large eggs, beaten + 1 tbsp water
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
Honey garlic sauce:
2 tsp minced garlic
½ c. honey
1 tbsp corn starch + 3 tbsp cold water
2 tbsp soy sauce
How to make Crispy Honey Garlic Chicken
Step 1: Add the honey, soy sauce, and garlic to a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil. Meanwhile, whisk the cornstarch with cold water. Stir this into the boiling honey sauce until thickened. Set aside when done.
Step 2: Place the flour, cayenne pepper, paprika, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a wide, shallow dish. Mix well until combined.
Step 3: Whisk the eggs and 1 tbsp water in another shallow dish.
Step 4: In the egg wash, dredge the chicken, then coat it in the flour mixture, coating all sides.
Step 5: In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the chicken and sear for about 4 to 5 minutes per side until crispy and cooked through.
Step 6: In the honey garlic sauce, toss the chicken. Serve right away. Enjoy!
