My family loves this pizza casserole! It’s an easy recipe that you can make without a fuss. This pizza casserole is also freezer friendly and very adaptable. You can swap the ingredients to suit your taste.
Leftovers also make a delicious lunch. Make sure to keep them in an airtight container and store them in the fridge for up to 3 to 4 days. Before eating, transfer the casserole to a microwave-safe dish and reheat. Or reheat in the oven for about 10 minutes at 325 degrees.
INGREDIENTS
6 ounces pepperoni
3 c. Mozzarella cheese
1/4 c. Parmesan cheese
28 ounces can of crushed tomatoes (or 2 15 ounces cans of crushed tomatoes)
1 pound ground beef (or Italian Sausage)
1 tbsp Italian Seasoning
16 ounces penne pasta
1 tsp garlic salt
How to make Easy Pizza Casserole
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees.
Step 2: Cook the ground beef until browned. Then, drain the excess grease.
Step 3: To the beef, add crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, and garlic salt. Stir well until mixed.
Step 4: In the meantime, cook the pasta following the package directions until al dente. Drain the pasta when done and place half of the pasta in a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
Step 5: Over the pasta, spoon half of the meat mixture and sprinkle with half of the mozzarella cheese. On top, layer half of the pepperonis.
Step 6: Make another layer with the rest of the pasta, meat sauce, cheese, and pepperoni.
Step 7: On top, sprinkle the Parmesan cheese.
Step 8: Tent with a foil and place in the preheated oven. Bake for about 30 minutes. Uncover and resume baking for additional 15 minutes until brown and bubbly.
Step 9: Remove from the oven when done and let the casserole cool for about 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
