INGREDIENTS

White Cheddar Gravy:

1 ½ tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 c. milk
A pinch of nutmeg
1 tablespoon butter
1 oz. white cheddar, shredded
A pinch of paprika
¼ tsp salt
A pinch of black pepper

Sliders:

12-16 ounces sliced turkey
12 slider buns
2-3 tomatoes, sliced
12 slices bacon cooked
½ c. shredded white cheddar cheese
¼ tsp paprika
¼ tsp nutmeg
White Cheddar Gravy
4 tablespoons butter, plus an additional for serving if desired

How to make Hot Kentucky Brown Sliders

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees.

Step 2: Melt 1 tbsp butter in a medium-sized saucepan on medium heat. Once the butter has melted, stir in the flour and cook until smooth and bubbly. Gradually add in the milk, stirring constantly until smooth. Then, season with black pepper, nutmeg, and paprika. Stir well and gently boil, stirring often, until the sauce begins to thicken.

Step 3: Once the sauce is slightly thickened, take the pan off the heat. Add the cheese and stir until melted. Set aside.

Step 4: In a small bowl, place the butter and melt in 5 to 10-second increments in the microwave until fully melted. Then, whisk in 1/4 tsp nutmeg and 1/4 tsp paprika.

Step 5: In a baking dish, place the bottom half of the slider buns and brush with half of the butter mixture.

Step 6: On the buns, place a layer of turkey followed by a slice of tomato and 2 tbsp of cheese gravy. In half, break the bacon slices and crisscross them over the gravy. On top, sprinkle half c. of the white cheddar. Finally, top with the top half of the slider buns.

Step 7: On top of the buns, brush the rest of the butter and spice mixture.

Step 8: Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 15 to 20 minutes, uncovered, until the cheese has melted and the tops are golden brown.

Step 9: Before serving, top the sliders with optional butter. Enjoy with the rest of the White Cheddar Gravy.
