I love this Italian sausage, peppers, and onions recipe. This is a simple recipe that guarantees a delicious meal! And it’s a flexible recipe that comes together in a snap and can accompany a large meal. This is also great to serve as the main dish with a couple of side dishes such as Italian bread, macaroni salad, pasta salad, tomatoes, olive oil, etc.
This dish can easily be put together in just forty-five minutes from start to finish! This has been one of my family’s favorites for years. The best part is this recipe is pretty versatile. You can swap the ingredients to suit your taste. You are welcome to use either sweet Italian sausage or regular Italian sausage. Even pork sausage! Or you can make a simple variation that is a little healthier, you can use chicken or turkey sausage instead. If you love a pop of colors, you can also add in yellow, orange, or red peppers, keeping in mind that these peppers are sweeter compared to green peppers.
