Ingredients

1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tbsp butter

3 cloves garlic, chopped

1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce

1/3 c. beer, wine, or broth

1/2 tsp ground black pepper

1/4 c. hot sauce (or to taste)

2 tbsp butter, chilled and cut into 1/2 inch pieces

salt to taste

2 tbsp lemon juice (1/2 lemon)

2 tsp creole seasoning

How to make New Orleans BBQ Shrimp

Step 1: In a pan, melt the butter on medium-high heat. Once melted, add the garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until aromatic. Then, add the hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, beer, lemon juice, creole seasoning, and pepper. Simmer for about 5 to 7 minutes or until the sauce has reduced by half.

Step 2: Toss in the shrimp and continue to cook for 2 to 3 minutes on each side, depending on the size of the shrimp.

Step 3: Adjust the heat to medium-low. Add the chilled butter and stir until melted. To taste, season with salt.

Step 4: Serve the shrimp with French bread. Enjoy!

Notes:

If you have squeamish eaters, you can remove the shells and heads.

Adjust the hot sauce, depending on how you want your heat level would be.

Go easy on the creole seasonings. Taste and adjust.

To thicken the sauce, you can stir in a mixture of cornstarch and cold water. This will save you time instead of simmering to reduce the sauce.

If desired, you can garnish the dish with some sliced green onions or chopped parsley.
