If desired, simmer the marinating sauce for about 4 to 5 minutes and serve this as a dip. You can also drizzle this on top of the pork belly before serving. This optional step guarantees to strengthen the taste. You can skip this step, but I recommend you try it.

2 garlic cloves, sliced
500 grams pork belly, around 1 pound
Honey water for brushing, 1 tbsp honey plus 1 tbsp marinating sauce
3-4 ginger slices
1 spring onion
Sauce:
1 tablespoon cooking wine
1 teaspoon dark soy sauce
1 tablespoon light soy sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon honey
¼ teaspoon ground white pepper
¼ teaspoon five-spicy powder
How to make Roasted Pork Belly with Honey
Step 1: Clean and drain the pork belly.
Step 2: Place the sauce ingredients in a large bowl and mix well until combined.
Step 3: In the sauce, marinate the pork belly for about 24 to 48 hours in the fridge.
Step 4: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 200 degrees C.
Step 5: In a small bowl, whisk 1 tbsp honey with 1 tbsp marinating sauce. On both sides of the pork belly, brush the honey sauce.
Step 6: Place in the preheated oven and roast for about 20 minutes.
Step 7: Flip the pork belly and brush the other side with the honey water. Resume roasting for additional 10 to 15 minutes.
Step 8: Before serving, let the roast cool for a few minutes before cutting it into slices.
