1 c. shredded cheddar cheese, divided

How to make Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Stuffed Biscuits

To make the Biscuits:

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees.

Step 2: Place the flour, baking powder, and salt in a food processor. Pulse a couple of times until well mixed. Then, add the butter along with the cheddar cheese and chives. Blend until you have a mixture that resembles coarse crumbs.

Step 3: Into the flour mixture, gradually pour in the buttermilk. Process until you have a soft dough.

Step 4: Onto a lightly floured surface, turn the dough out, and knead until the dough is no longer sticky. Into a half-inch thick sheet, roll the dough, then cut using a floured biscuit cutter.

Step 5: Flatten the dough gently and spread 2 pieces of dough until it is around 4 inches wide.

Sausage, Egg, Cheese Filling:

Step 6: Onto the dough, place a large piece of cheese, followed by 1 sausage patty, and top with 2 tbsp scrambled egg. Place another piece of dough on top, pinching the sides until sealed.

Step 7: On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, place the stuffed dough. To make 8 rolls, do the same with the rest of the ingredients.

Step 8: Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Step 9: Remove from the oven when done, and serve the stuffed biscuits right away. You can also keep the biscuits in the fridge for up to 1 week to enjoy as an easy grab-and-go breakfast.
