Ingredients
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound skirt steak, thinly sliced into 1/4-inch strips
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 pound green beans, trimmed
3-inch piece of ginger, peeled and grated
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 green onions, chopped
1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon plus 1 tablespoon canola oil, divided
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
How to make Sesame-Ginger Beef
Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, place the beef and pat them dry using paper towels. Season the beef with salt. Add the cornstarch and toss until coated. Set aside.
Step 2: Heat 1 tsp oil in a large skillet on medium-high heat. Add the green beans and cook for a minute. Then, add 2 tbsp water and put the lid on. Cook for another minute. To a plate, transfer the greens and discard any excess water.
Step 3: To the stovetop, return the skillet and set it to high heat. Add the rest of the oil. Add the beef once the oil is almost smoking. Stir-fry the beef for about 2 to 3 minutes until almost cooked through.
Step 4: Adjust the heat to medium, then add the garlic, ginger, soy sauce, vinegar, and sugar. Quickly stir to coat the beef, then return the green beans to the skillet.
Step 5: Garnish with some green onions and sesame seeds. Serve the sesame-ginger beef straightaway. Enjoy!
