Smothered green beans are made with canned green beans that have been cooked in bacon and brown sugar, butter, soy sauce, and garlic mixture.

I have also brought this casserole to so many potlucks, and everybody gets seconds! These smothered green beans pair well with just about anything! But I especially love this with grilled chicken and pork chops.
Ingredients
⅔ c. brown sugar
5 (15-ounce) cans of green beans, drained
1 pound bacon
¼ c. butter, melted
1½ teaspoons garlic powder
¼ c. low-sodium soy sauce
HOW TO MAKE SMOTHERED GREEN BEANS
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees F.
Step 2: In an ungreased 9 x 13-inch pan, pour the drained green beans.
Step 3: Cook the bacon in a large skillet until almost done and not too crispy. Transfer the bacon to a paper towel to drain. Once cool enough to handle, chop the bacon and sprinkle over the green beans.
Step 4: Combine the brown sugar, melted butter, soy sauce, and garlic powder until well-mixed. Pout this on top of the green beans.
Step 5: Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 40 minutes, uncovered.
