Ingredients

1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1/2 pound (0.2 kg) pork tenderloin, cut into bite-size pieces
1/2 red bell pepper, about 2 ounces (56 grams) and cut into pieces
1 piece fresh/canned pineapple ring, cut into small pieces
1/2 green bell pepper, about 2 ounces (56 grams) and cut into pieces
oil for frying
2 stalks of scallions, only the white part, cut into 2-inch length

Marinade:

1/2 tsp cornstarch
1/2 tsp rice wine
1 tsp soy sauce

Frying Batter:

1 tsp cooking oil
2 ounces (56 grams) of all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 c. water
1 ounce (30 gram) cornstarch
1 pinch salt
1/2 egg

Sweet And Sour Sauce:

1 tsp sugar
1 1/2 tbsp tomato ketchup
1 tsp plum sauce
1 tsp oyster sauce
1 tsp cornstarch
2 tbsp water
1/8 tsp Chinese rice vinegar, transparent in color
1/2 tsp Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce

How to make Sweet and Sour Pork

Step 1: Into pieces, cut the pork tenderloin. Mix the marinade ingredients and throw in the pork tenderloin. Let the pieces, marinate for about 15 to 20 minutes.

Step 2: Combine the sweet and sour sauce ingredients until well-mixed. Set aside.

Step 3: After straining the dry ingredients of the frying batter, add the egg, water, and cooking oil. Mix well until you have a thick batter.

Step 4: Into the batter, transfer the well-marinated pork, evenly coating each piece.

Step 5: Add enough cooking oil to a deep skillet for deep-frying. Add the pork pieces once the oil is hot and fry until golden brown. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels when done.

Step 6: In a hot wok, drizzle in some cooking oil. Then, add the chopped garlic and stir fry until light brown. Next, add the bell peppers and slices of pineapple. Stir fry until aromatic. Pour in the sweet and sour sauce. Cook until thickened. Once the sauce has thickened, return the pork to the wok and mix well.

Step 7: Sprinkle in some chopped scallions and do a couple of stirs.

Step 8: Serve over steamed white rice. Enjoy!
