Ingredients
1 tbsp oil
1 1/2 lb lean ground beef, chicken, or pork
1 clove garlic, minced
1 large onion, diced
1/2 c. quick-cooking rice
1 small cabbage, chopped
1 tsp each salt and pepper
1 can(s) diced tomatoes, 28 ounces
1 can(s) plain tomato sauce, 8 ounces
3/4 c. water
HOW TO MAKE UNSTUFFED CABBAGE ROLLS
Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the ground meat and onion. Cook until browned and the onion is tender.
Next, add the garlic along with the rice. Stir and continue to cook for a minute more.
Then, add the tomato sauce along with the tomato. Season with salt and pepper. Stir well until everything is blended.
Add the chopped cabbage and pour in the water. Let the mixture boil.
Into a slow cooker, transfer the mixture. Put the lid on and set it to cook at 300 degrees F (150 degrees C) for 2 to 3 hours.
Serve the cabbage rolls right away. Enjoy!
