This is a scrumptious hot sub stuffed with chicken, cheese, and homemade white BBQ sauce. These white BBQ chicken subs are a must-try! And the gooey cheese on top is to die for!
This sub is my ultimate favorite sandwich! Aside from Hot Italian Sub, I am sure never to miss my fave White BBQ chicken sandwich! I fell in love with this sub the first time I took a big bite! This is a total comfort food packed with mouthwatering flavors!
Ingredients
White BBQ Sauce:
2 large garlic cloves, pressed
1/2 c. mayo
1/2 tablespoon fresh cracked white pepper
1/2 tablespoon Creole mustard
2 tablespoons white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon paprika
2 teaspoon horseradish
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Sandwich:
2 tablespoons vegetable oil for cooking
6-8 chicken tenders
2 large shallots, sliced
2 French bread subs
1 1/2 c. shredded Monterrey Jack cheese
About 1/2 c. white BBQ sauce more for dipping or drizzling
Salt and pepper
How to make White BBQ Chicken Subs
Step 1: Combine the White BBQ sauce ingredients until blended and place in the fridge until ready to use.
Step 2: In a saute pan, add the chicken and season with salt and pepper. Sear the chicken until done. Halfway through cooking the chicken, add the shallots.
Step 3: Allow the chicken tenders to cool before chopping, then place them in a mixing bowl. Add the cooked onions along with cheese and the white BBQ sauce. Toss well until everything is combined.
Step 4: In the middle, slice the bread. Make sure not to cut the bread all the way through.
Step 5: Between the subs, divide the chicken mixture and sprinkle extra cheese on top.
Step 6: On a baking sheet, place the subs. Broil until the cheese has melted.
Step 7: Before serving, drizzle a bit more of the white BBQ on top. Enjoy immediately!
